We are situated on the route that goes through the high
Alpujarra of Granada. Coming up from Orgiva, taking a curve from the road
you will soon notice you are entering the Poqueira Gorge. From the
beginning it's narrow with steep mountainsides. You will see the villages
lifted on height. The first one it's ours: Pampaneira. The road crosses
the river and starts to climb, and between turn and turn you will get to
Pampaneira. You'll see our sign just at the beginning of the town, close
to the bus stop. Welcome! |

You will see our three store building
with balconies and the handicraft shop on the lower plant. Ruta del
Mulhacén was the first touristic business in Pampameira that opened its
doors to the public in 1978, being a bar restaurant and a hotel the
original business, runned by the whole Martin's family. These days the
lower plant occupies a complete handicraft, clothes and complements shop
and the hotel is in the other three floors. |

The entry to the hotel
can be done by car and it's very close to the bus-stop. From our flowery
balconies you can see excellent views of the town of Pampaneira and its
peculiar architecture. Also the protected natural area. We are in the
Natural Park of Sierra Nevada. |

Situate yourself in front of the entry
to the hotel, surrounded by the colorful handmade textile and the needle
work of esparto grass. Breath a new atmosphere of tranqility and relax.

Going up the steps, you can contemplete
a colour tapestry made by Angelina Martin, the Hotel director. It
representes a tribute to the water, introduced in the alpujarrenian
cultural landscape, one more of the singulareties you can fin in pur land.
The sky, teared by the clouds that almost touch the high ills and the
water that slides slowly between the terrace of the landscape,
giving life and color to everything it touches.

andalusian pottery

On the first floor we arrive to the
living room, dinning room for breakfast, where the reception desk is
located. There you can receive all the information you need and we can
give you. You can consult our books, maps and Natural Park catalogs. You
can also contemplate the permanent pictures exposition from the
alpujarrenian landscape of I. Molina Temboury. |

And last, from the terraces of
the third floor you can see the shocking greatness landscape that offers
you the Poqueira Gorge, with its villages going up to the highness and,
behind them, on the farness, the high hills, The highest of the iberic
peninsula: Mulhacén and Veleta peaks, today protected in the National Park
of Sierra Nevada. |
